Birthday's and Projects

Yesterday was my birthday. Yay for me! I went to work and out to dinner with my family. It was a nice day. When we came home from dinner Brian had a surprise waiting for me. Since we splurged and got great tickets for the Fleetwood Mac concert next week, I wasn't expecting anything. I've been wanting to put flower hanger's on my railings but just haven't got to it yet. My sweet husband had gone to Home Depot and got all the flowers and 'equipment' to do the job. While I was at work he had the flowers planted and hung on the railings. When we came home from dinner I saw them and my porch looking adorable. Thanks so much Bri, it was a great surprise and I love looking at them everyday!

I'm trying to spice up the outside of my house while I don't have a yard. I started by getting some adirandock chairs for the porch. Then I found these great tables at a consignment shop to go with them. They were all white, which is clean and nice, but it's amazing what a little spray paint can do. Plus I love that I can change them whenever I want and have a brand new look. I've put some before and after pictures. 

When No Where Else Feels Good

My poor little Fin hasn't been feeling good this week. She's had a fever off and on, a nasty little cough, and runny nose. Even with the Tylenol and Benadryl the nights are long and the days are ok. Since Sunday none of us have gotten a good nights rest. Fin's been 'waking up' in the middle of the night just crying and kicking but she's not aware she's doing it. It's sad because you try and snuggle her and she doesn't register what's going on. Today I put her down for a nap and went out to water the flowers. When I came in she was not in her bed, not with Brian, and I couldn't find her anywhere. I walked into my bathroom and found her curled up like a little bug on the floor by the tub. Makes me so sad to see her this way. 

Saturday in the Sun

Saturday was yet another bike race. In the month of May we have 5 races! It's crazy and non stop. This one was at Soldier Hollow, so at least we were at home court. The weather was beautiful and for that we all got a little sun. After the race we had a team BBQ at our house and it was so nice to be with friends, have yummy food and get a little more Vitamin D. Fin loves going to races and is such a big help. This time she had to bring her bike so she could be fast like papa. She's gone to races ever since she was born and feels right at home. It's nice that the team is so great with her too.

One Long Day

On Saturday we had quite the day. We were up at 6:30 am to go to a bike race near Logan. After a long cold and windy day a the bike race, we headed back to SLC (around 4 pm) where we showered and dropped Finley off with my dad. Next we were headed to the Eagles concert. There was a quick stop at Cafe Rio for dinner (6:30 pm) then we went to Rio Tinto Stadium for the concert, which didn't start until 8 pm. I would have to say that Rio Tinto is my favorite place in the valley to go for concerts. The sound was way better than Usana or Energy Solutions! Michelle Branch opened for the Eagles and did a few songs acoustically and was amazing. I'm not a huge fan of hers but I was impressed. Then there was a at least a 40 min gap until the main concert began. So around 9:15 pm the Eagles took stage. They were awesome! Not only did they play Eagles songs but also a few singles from Henley, Frye, and Walsh. It was one of the best concerts I'd been too. All in all we didn't make it back to Heber until close to 1 am. Oh and we have 9 am church. We were all pretty tired on Sunday but had a nice Mother's Day. By the way, that concert had some of the best people watching I've ever seen!

Sorry I don't have any pictures from the actual race due to the fact that I was handing water bottles, keeping track of Fin, and well didn't have a camera. Here are Fin and uncle Hunter out cold on the ride back to Salt Lake.

This is the view of the stage from were our seats were. Not bad, other than there was a rail in front of Brian and he had to keeping ducking around it to see. 

We decided to take a 'walk' to kill time and we stumbled upon these seats that were open. View getting better. 

Oh yeah, then we took another walk and found these seats! The Eagles my look like they are 100 but they still have their voices and man can Joe Walsh move and play the guitar. 

6 Year's and going Strong

Today marks our 6 year anniversary! It's amazing how fast the time goes and yet it seems like forever (in a good way of course). We've been through so much together: we've had our goods times and the rough. We've moved 7 times, gone through too many cars that I want to count. You've graduated from college and have been successful in two real grown up jobs. I've been at my job for 5 years. We've been to Europe twice, Mexico twice, Lake Powell 5 times, California, Arizona, all over the state of Utah, and Wyoming. We've gone through 4 bike race seasons together. Yes 4 years of me sitting in the dirt handing out water bottles, making sure that you have all your stuff before and after the race, cheering you on, making sure you eat and drink right, taking care of Fin in between water bottle handling, and helping be team mom whenever needed. I've lost track of how many bikes you've gone through to make up for the one you sold to buy my wedding ring. I've enjoyed and will continue to watch you do what you love and become stronger. We've been through three surgeries together. You've endured through the emotional roller-coaster of pregnancy and post pregnancy (not an easy job for any guy). We have a beautiful two year old daughter that may look like me, but has your fun personality. You've been a great father and role model for Finley. You keep me smiling whether I want to or not. The times that I feel weak you are there to lift me up. You've made me a better and stronger person than I could be on my own and I'm so grateful for you. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us. I love you Bri!!
