Hippie Chicks and Bikes

Finley is known for not wanting anything in her hair. I don't know how she does it because it drives me crazy looking at her with hair in her eyes all the time. Brian has slowly broken her into wearing a headband. It's not really pulling her hair out of her eyes but its a start. Between her headband, and new fettish of wanting to go barefoot, Brian has started calling Fin his little 'hippie.' These are the most recent pictures I could get with her new look.

Finley's hands and feet are covered in mud but she loves riding around in the basket on my new cruiser bike. (Sorry the pictures aren't great, I took them with my IPhone)

It may have a few rust spots and dings, but it rides like a gem! Brian just got me this sweet cruiser to ride along side of him. My bike is over 45 years old, so I'd say it's in pretty good condition and for $80 I can't complain (most vintage bikes go for $200-400). With a little TLC this little beauty will be cruising around the valley in no time.

Really if one isn't enough we have SEVEN! Ok so two are mine, a road bike and a cruiser, the rest are Brian's. Crazy I know, oh and this doesn't include Finley's bike. I need a garage just to put bikes in. Our ski collection isn't much better either. I guess there could be worse hobbies right?

Rough Ride

Saturday was the Deer Valley race. The weather was cold and rainy up until ten minutes into the race. Then out of nowhere the sun came out and lasted through awards. The team looked good as always and Brian was feeling strong. He slashed his tire during the second lap and held in second place. Shortly after coming through the feed zone and headed back up the hill, we saw someone in blue carrying a tire in one hand and a bike in the other. I walked up to help them and sure enough it was Bri. His tire flatted on the climb and he stopped to try and fix it. When he was changing the tube the valve ceased against the rim and he wasn't able to fix it. Stupid mechanical problems. He looked good and felt strong. Maybe at Solitude he'll be able to gain back the points. As we were leaving the race, Finley was saying 'Papa was fast today. He needs a trophy.' I have no idea where she learned what a trophy was but it was darn cute. I thought maybe she would forget about it but no, all the way home she noted that papa needed a trophy. So when we got home we 'made' him a trophy and she was so excited to give it to him. I love my little girl, she has such a sweet heart.

Finley helped me with the writing and 'drew' some of the pictures.

When Lost...

Ok so this story is funnier if you were there but Brian made me take pictures and blog about it. The other day Finley was upset because we couldn't find her car. We looked all over and it was nowhere to be found. She had it right before the diaper change and then it was gone. A few hours later when we were coming back from doing errands, we put her in her car seat and she kept saying 'ouch, hold me.' Brian and I were like what's the matter with her? We didn't pinch her leg when we did the buckle up. As we got in the house and I checked her diaper to see if she'd pooped I saw a weird grey wire in the back of her diaper. It kind of freaked me out. I pulled on the wire and what did I find? The missing car. Don't worry, the diaper had no poop, it was completely dry. Brian and I were laughing for 5 straight minutes. So, if you're child says they lost something, don't be afraid to check their diaper!

Fleetwood Mac

For my birthday we splurged and bought tickets to Fleetwood Mac. It was an amazing show. I'm pretty sure that we were younger than most of the audience's grandkids. Not too mention, I've never seen so much 'old people' PDA in my life. It was pretty amusing. Our seats were awesome, row 2 on the lower bowl. I give it to the band for still sounding great. I had no idea how excentric the band is (still is I should say). Stevie Nix is funny to watch, she just keeps wondering around the stage and has on these outfits that are like a fairy / hippy dress. Lindsey Buckingham was pretty funny. He's so skinny and would make the most amusing faces during his guitar solos. The drummer is like 7 feet and was dressed in a white dress shirt, shorts with black tights and red tennis shoes. If you think their songs are long on CD you should try a live show. They would add like two extra minutes to a nine minute song. It was great and I'm so glad I could go. Thanks Bri for the great birthday present!

Sundance

Saturday's race was one of my favorites, it took place at Sundance Resort. The weather was great and the team was strong. Brian took first with two other teammates in third and sixth. Our pro category had a first and fifth place finish. The women's category did well too. It was good to see the team pull a bunch of podium finishes. Luckily we have this Saturday off then Deer Valley after that. May was a crazy month for races and the season has only five races left. This of course doesn't count the endurance races we do. Good job hon, way to pull the big 'W'.

Brian 1st, and Ryan Krusemark 3rd
Proud papa with Fin
Fin and I were killing time in between water bottle feeds. I just love her cheesy grin in this one!
