Waycee Jane Tolbert

First I'll apologize for all the photos, but when there's so many good ones to choose from, how can you only put a handful? Thanks to my sister in law I have pictures that honestly I don't think I would have otherwise and it's amazing to have photo's of a day that vaguely slips from your mind. The day began with a shower, bowl of cereal, and that phone call that you've been pacing back and forth for. 'Heather Tolbert, how soon can you be to the hospital?' We had left the girl's with my mom the night before so Brian and I grabbed our bag's and headed out the door. The flood of excitement and nerves ran through my body and the thought of this was the last time I'd feel this little one wiggle in my tummy made me a little sad. Of course the thought of 'I wonder what she'll look like? How big will she be? Will she have hair? Is the delivery going to be smooth and quick like the last? I'm scared to death for the epidural but I know it makes a world of a difference so it will be ok! How will my other two girl's react to their new sister? How the heck am I going to be able to handle three kids?!' quickly overtook any thoughts and sickness for the last 9 months.

We arrived at the Intermountain Medical Center Women's Clinic, checked in, got changed and after the nurse hooked me up to IV's and gave us a run down of everything we made the calls to our moms to update them. Needless to say, they were on their way shortly after. My mother and sister in law showed up and things were already progressing quickly so they decided to go grab a bite to eat and bring back lunch for Bri. As has happened in the past, I knew that once Brian had is lunch in hand the delivery of the baby wasn't that far away. So they left, Brian had to step out for a business call, and by now the contractions were 3 mins apart and pretty intense. I called the nurse for the epidural and things were all good.  Sure enough, as soon as Brian had his lunch, the nurse checked me and we were prepping for the doctor. My mom showed up just in time and before I knew it, it was go time. With Brian by my side and making me laugh and smile I made it through once again. I was induced at 10:00 am and at 2:05 pm little Waycee Jane Tolbert was born.

9 months ago it all began
Fighting through contractions.
Bri eating his lunch, he'd been so excited to have a Philly Cheesestake Sandwich from East Coast Subs. Nearly go time.
Brian making jokes to keep me occupied.

Not sure who the real one in pain is. He did keep complaining that his arm hurt and was in an uncomfortable position.
First look at Waycee and the overwhelming joy of knowing she's ok.
How did we survive without modern technology? This is us facetiming with Brian's sister Micall and her Husband TJ that live out of state. We were able to introduce them to their new niece. Just after we facetimed with Brian's little brother who is currently in Europe.
At 7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches, Waycee was my 'biggest baby' yet. She couldn't be more perfect.
This photo says it all.
I'm a sucker for daddy daughter photo's.
These would be the sweet pointy feet that I could see and feel move across my belly for the last month.

Look close and you can see a little smile.

Proud grandpa Steve.
This was the girl's meeting their sister for the first time. Finley was so dang excited and just loves to hold her and kiss her. Eliza has finally warmed up and actually wants to hold her now.
Grandma Deb.
Grandpa Tracy.
Grandma LeAnn. The look on Eliza's face pretty much explains how she was for the first 30 mins.
Proud big sister Finley.
Finally, somewhat warmed up to little sis.
I know for many this probably doesn't seem like a lot of hair, but out of my kids its a lot and dark.

I love how tiny they seem the first time you put them in the car seat.
Oh I just love my girl's!!

After being home a few days and trying to settle in, she's handling all the noise and chaos pretty well.
We've been home a few days now and are getting settled in. Apart from the lack of sleep you get feeding in the night every two hours, we are all doing great and I couldn't be more thankful for the love and support from family and friends. I especially couldn't do all this without Brian, he's been a trooper through all my emotional ups and downs, drama that living with three (now 4) girl's bring, and the recovery of having this baby has had on me. Children really are a special blessing and miracle in our lives, somehow I know I'll be able to handle having three kids.

Sunny Day

In preparing for the new addition that is coming to our house, we've been trying to do as much with the girls as we can before we are locked down for a bit. With the weather being warmer lately and not wanting to deal with crowds, last week we decided on going to a splash park with my sister in law and her girls. We loaded up in our car and headed to Provo. Four little girls chatted and giggled all the way down the canyon and you couldn't help but smile listening to them. We first stopped at Target for a few supplies and picnic food, then it was off to the splash pad. The girls could hardly wait!

No waiting around they were off to the water.

They realized they needed energy to keep going so they took a pit stop every now and again to eat their lunches. It couldn't have been more perfect for two pregnant moms and four little ones. We sat in the shade on a bench and the kids ran back and forth between our picnic spot and the water.

These girls have become the best of friends and love hanging out.

Mama's Trip

My younger brother has been working in St. Thomas and my parents and I took a trip down to see him. Because of work Brian was unable to come with us. I did miss him and my girl's tons, but 5 days away cleared my head and helped bring back the patience a pregnant mother needs. We visited St. Thomas, Virgin Gorda Baths, and St. John's. All were really pretty island's that offered different tourist attractions. We ate well and had fun!

This is a view from my hotel room. You can see a big cruise ship in the background. In the busy part of the season there can be up to 6-8 boats. Kind of crazy. It's one of the main stops for the cruise lines.

Though it's hard to tell, the 5 bright lights in the middle are kayaks that you could take out at night.  It's pretty cool to see the ocean life at night and have a guide take you around the cove.

Ting. I've been hearing about this drink for years from my in laws and how great it is. As luck would have it, it was popular on St. Thomas and I'm not going to lie, I think I had at least 3 a day. It's a fresh squeezed grapefruit with sparkling water mix. So delicious!

These are The Baths at Virgin Gorda. You almost felt like you were at Lake Powell slot canyons only with the ocean. It was worth the 2 hour ferry ride to get there.
Me and my baby bump at The Baths.
Just me and the baby bump enjoying some sun.
This is Trunk Bay on St. John's. It's one of the top twenty beaches to visit according to travel channel. It was fantastic and if you love to snorkel, it was a great place. We also found the best little bakery shop on this island were we ate breakfast and lunch.

So what happens back home when mom is gone? Well I can tell you that Bri was a stud for surviving and I'm pretty sure the girls like it better when mom's gone because they do much cooler stuff with dad!
He took them to the zoo.

They wear lots of hippie headbands because that's as much as he can do with their hair.
They are so tired by the end of the day they fall asleep on their own.
Yep, even the landary got done! So impressed I may have to leave town more often.
He even attended their soccer games and made sure they had water bottles and snacks.

Easter

It seems that every year we are in St. George around the time of Easter. Sweet Grandma Beth always makes sure that the Easter bunny comes to visit.

What? The Easter bunny also comes to our house? Eliza was stoked to go out and see the treasure's hidden in the yard. Together the girl's found their eggs and a few other goodies.

I honestly have to laugh at this picture. If you really look at it, it just kind of matches how our family is. What's not to love about these guys?!

Randomness

Yes it's true, my time and energy have been spent everywhere else but my blog. One of these days I'll put together Fin's 5 year video but until then the odd and end post will have to do. These are some random but cute photo's of the girl's over the last couple months.

Eliza is so determined and independent these days. I've come to the conclusion that the arguments in the morning about what she wants to wear are just not worth the battles. Of course when we go somewhere nice she's not allowed to wear whatever she pleases. Most day's it's a dress or skirt, her running shoes or pretty shoes. Everything she does is not done with anyone's help! If I could just get myself together and focus on the potty training she'd be all set. I love this little one for her independence and determination, to put it in a word, she is my 'Firecracker'.

This spring we ventured up to Jackson over Conference weekend. The girl's love going to 'The Barn' and going into town. These two are becoming best friends and heaven forbid Finley goes or does something without Eliza.

Yes we've had a bike race or two in our schedules. What a better way to support papa then by supporting the biking habit in your sleep? Notice a trend with Eliza? Yep, hands on the hip in almost every picture.

Proof of us sitting in the dirt cheering on Bri. The girl's love it!

Bubbles and kites. Even though I think 5 gallons worth of bubbles have been spilt on the driveway, grass, and Eliza herself, it's her favorite thing this summer. Fin likes that we have windy afternoons so that her ladybug can fly high in the sky.
